THE BEST OF THE MET GALA

We eagerly await the first Monday in May each year as the visual feast that is The Met Gala draws to a near. The biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar, and renowned for attracting the world’s biggest stars, the ball is an opulent celebration of style. Hosted by the editor of Vogue, Anna Wintour and held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Gala (also known as the Oscars of the East Coast) is a chance for fashion's biggest names to showcase adventurous and avant garde designs.

THE FASHION

With this year’s theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” we expected some powerful statements and unexpected interpretations… and we weren’t disappointed. Blake Lively’s train was so long she has to take a party bus to the ball! But there were also those who gave a more understated nod to the theme and chose to not let it dominate their fabulous outfits…

INSIDE THE GALA
Entrants to the gala walked the red carpet to meet the evening’s hosts - Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, Rihanna, and Amal Clooney. A journey through the Byzantine and medieval art galleries followed, where guests viewed designs by Christian Lacroix, John Galliano and Versace. Cocktail hour, a decadent dinner and a performance by Madonna concluded the opulent evening.
